Cool Kids Don’t Cry

Football-crazy 12 year old Akkie lives for the school soccer tournament. Confident and spirited, she stands up to her classmate, Joep, who doesn’t think girls should be allowed to play a “boy’s” game. But Joep soon discovers how much he has underestimated Akki when she is suddenly diagnosed with leukaemia. Remaining a positive force to be reckoned with, even from hospital, she continues to interfere in the soccer tournament. Eventually, when Akki is no longer able to participate in the game, it is Joep who takes everyone by surprise by coming up with a really special plan.
